Kenny Glass (Cherokee/Wyandot) has over thirteen years of experience in the textile arts. Glass learned to bead while in college, but he was first taught to use a sewing machine by his mother and a friend. He continues to be inspired by his family and community to produce his bold, modern designs from a Cherokee perspective. Whether it be basket weave patterns, traditional stories or even Native humor, Glass’s work is a reflection of the vast complexity of Cherokee culture. He is a graduate of the Cherokee Language Master Apprentice Program and now works for the Little Cherokee Seeds Program, where he lives in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
