In 1999, Crystal apprenticed with Cherokee National Treasure and Master Potter, Anna Mitchell. Since that time, her work has been awarded many times in major juried Native American Art Markets across the country including the Santa Fe Indian Market for 19 consecutive years. She considers herself more of a traditionalist in following Anna’s legacy, and teaches Native American pottery workshops and programs that have included Gilcrease Museum, Five Civilized Tribes Museum. In 2020 she was an Artist in Residence for 2 weeks at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, IN. It has been her privilege to serve as VP of a newly formed non-profit, Rt 66 Native Arts Alliance, centered in Catoosa, OK. Their mission is to promote Native American artists and provide educational opportunities for anyone interested in learning more about our culture. Crystal’s work was featured in the fall of 2020 on season 6 of Osiyo TV. She is thankful in particular to Cherokee Nation, Creek Nation and the Chickasaw Nation for their continued support.
