CHEROKEE NATIONAL PEACE PAVILION GRAND OPENING
CHEROKEE NATIONAL PEACE PAVILION
JUNE 20, 2018; 12:30 PM

Join us June 20 for the grand opening of the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion, located east of the Cherokee National Capitol Building. The opening of this pavilion commemorates the 175th anniversary of the International Indian Council Meeting, a historic peace gathering Cherokee Nation hosted with 36 other tribes.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. with special guests from the annual Cherokee Tri-Council meeting. The celebration will include a live performance by the Cherokee National Youth Choir and a hog fry lunch that is open to the public.

The "1843 Cherokee Peace Council Exhibit," a special exhibit over this historical event, is featured at the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through November 21, 2018.

The Cherokee National Peace Pavilion is located at 177 S. Water Ave. in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
