Enjoy a variety of cultural festivities celebrating the influence Cherokee Nation has had on Craig County during Cherokee Day at Eastern Trails Museum in Vinita.

This family-friendly event runs until 1 p.m. and features multiple cultural demonstrations, including basket weaving, Cherokee language, clay and wood sculpture, flint knapping and loom weaving.

The special event also includes a book-signing for the recently released “Cherokee Nation: A History of Survival, Self Determination, & Identity​.”

The Eastern Trails Museum offers several Craig County-focused exhibits, including one that pays tribute to Cherokee influence throughout the county.
